Digital Video Storytelling is a hands-on bootcamp, where participants learn how to develop, produce, and publish their own creative content.   Using an Apple iPad as a self-contained production studio, students learn about--and are immersed in--all phases of the production process: pre thru post.

Culminating Summer 2017 Projects:
DVST grades 7-9     micro documentaries & branded promotional videos
DVST grades 5-6     public service announcements & commercial advertisements

During the one-week DVST 7-9 camp, students:

2. pitch their concept to their team of peers
3. take notes and make revisions to improve vision / cater to audience needs & expectations
4. create a shooting schedule (production planner)
5. demonstrate an understanding of camera angles and movements, shot composition, and rule of thirds (shoot w/ intent)
6. conduct an interview (direct subject, open-ended questions, impromptu questions, effective listening strategies)
7. shoot B roll footage which serves two purposes: cutaway from A Roll interview(s) & provide congruent visual footage
8. split audio and visual tracks from recorded/imported footage and edit independently--stacking tracks
9. cut/trim audio and visual tracks and assemble to communicate concise story
